Girls Rugby

Girls are very much encouraged at Alleynians, and can take part with the boys up to U12. However, we have found that many girls prefer to have their own squad - so in response to this we have established a special U12s girls squad for girls aged 10-12 (school years 5-7).

This squad follows the RFUW guidelines and includes U11 and U12 girls playing to the U10 Continuum rules (i.e. three in the scrum).

After playing at U12, the girls progress to a U15 squad, where they play in a formal SE League. Here, we join with Southwark Tigers and Beckenham to play other 'combined' teams from across Kent and SE England.

In summary, girls can join at any time and play:

• mixed rugby at mini-midi level to Under 12.
• Girls Under 12 (age 10 to 12)
• Girls Under 15 (age 12 to 15)

We will obviously consider adding older age-groups as the current cohort progresses, and as girls rugby continues to develop.
