Those in the know were expecting the possibility of at last breaking our duck against Sinjuns as soon as the team sheet was posted. With most of Saturday's first team seam attack plus the return of F-S and the Dobber the chances of seeing any spin looked small. So it turned out Sinjuns had first knock and got of to a reasonable if some what edgy start. Charlie "The Arm" Dunley didn't have his usual luck with the ball. He and Faruqui just managing a wicket a piece. Glen Marillier again bowled well and certainly better than his figures would suggest. Alan Eyles was having a monster day behind the stumps until having equalled the league record for dismissals (four) he inexplicably missed two further chances. But the key factor was the battle of the dobbers with F-S and Dingwall fighting it out to see who would have the most miserly figures. In the end the contest was won by F-S after his opponent was left to bowl the last but one over of the innings 10 coming from it otherwise the two of them had bowled 17 overs for just 33 runs that and Mayers excellent catch off F-S at slip probably made the task much easier than it might otherwise have been.     Captain McKee decided to open with Faruqui and Tampiyapa in what turned out to be a very sound decision. By the time Faruqui was out for 19 they had laid a solid foundation in good time. Tampiyapa responding to the opportunity to play on the grass in a quality side showed just how good a batsman he really is before Sinjuns skipper plucked a smart catch out of the air at mid-wicket, it would seem even at this level Tony hasn't lost his jug avoiding skills, had as seemed likely when the ball left the bat it been a boundary instead he would have reached a well deserved half-century. Franklyn had meanwhile come and gone for a very rapid 17 off 13 balls including one magnificent off drive. Marillier never quite found the form of last week and went to a soft dismissal caught in the gully. McKee took early advantage of the opposition skipper Williams' spinners and the lack of a deep mid-wicket before slowing down a little when joined by Mik Patel who played a Fairbrother like innings which helped us to victory with no further alarms.     An excellent win which led to talk in the bar afterwards of the OA's actually winning the League. I have to say that there is still a long way to go but even a hardened cynic like myself has to admit it is at least a possibility.
